This is Kongresshalle at the Nazi Party Rally Grounds in Nuremberg, Germany. Construction on this massive congressional hall for Hitler's National Socialists started in 1935 but was halted before completion due to the outbreak of WWII. About twice the size of Rome's Coliseum, it is the largest surviving monument of Nazi architecture in Germany. And its continued renovation by the city has sparked controversy. #Germany #history #wwii #travel

Another view of the St. Sebald's Church in Nuremberg, Germany. Built around 800 years ago, the medieval-era church is one of the oldest in the city. It was mostly destroyed by bombing during WWII (like the rest of Nuremberg) and finally rebuilt in the late 1950s. #Germany #travel #history #religion
